The Mean Reds

Ever have one of those days you just can't seem to shake that blah feeling... I think Holly Golightly vocalizes it perfectly with the mean reds. Seriously exactly how I feel sometimes and I never knew how to phrase it.

Style Icons

Anna Karina and Zooey Deschanel are my all time favorite style icons.  The bangs, the baby blues! Zooey with her fun playful style full of colors is great for expressing oneself.  What I love about Anna Karina's style is not only that she was the bomb, but her fashion is dark and beatniky (if that is even really a word) which really appeals to my side of cynicism.  This is a collection of style icons that inspire me and my handmade products at Indie Go Kait.

Art, Art, Art in Sedona

Flower design I scribbled up today.  One of my favorite things to do while I'm supposed to be fixated on the z scores in Statistics is doodle
flowers.  Below is a mixed media piece I did  in the style of Georgia O'Keefe inspired by my trip to Sedona, Arizona.  I urge everyone to once see Sedona it was so colorful and glorious.

Little Bit of Sketches

As you can probably tell by all these posts today, I am reallllyyyy trying to procrastinate packing.  Here are a couple of older sketches I found in my mess of a closet.  Isn't drawing the best?  I have crazy ADD and my entire life the only thing that can relax me and keep me focused is sketching.

First Logo I Ever Made

This is the first logo I ever designed back when I was in High School.  It is for a a local LLC called Elizabeth King P. Geneology in New Jersey.  They are a small company that research's family trees.  They requested it be very simple with a hand drawn tree.  Such a cute little logo:)

Packing, digging through my closet and I found this!!! Nothing more inspirational for some new jewelry items for Indie Go Kait's Spring line than my great grandmothers vintage jewelry.  She always had such colorful, fun style love it.

Morning guys! Or... afternoon? Afternoon for most that is.  I got this software Autodesk Sketchbook Pro a few year ago for Christmas and this is my first time trying it out.  If any of you have used it and have tips or reviews please comment:)  Today is my last day of winter break so I'm getting together all of my supplies, tools and inspirations and preparing to lug them all to my house at school. Yikes!  I'll also be posting some of my older sketches and random stuff:)

Some Styles that Inspire Indie Go Kait items

First Post :)

Hi Guys!  It's Kait, now this is my first blog ever so bear with me.  So...I'm gonna start this out with a little bit of background about myself.  I guess I will start with the basics of me? I am a college student, I live in New Jersey, I have 3 jobs, I'm a bit of a mess and I mostly live in my own world.
Just your typical broke as shit twentysomething wandering through life in my beat up Station Wagon, my baby Lola:)  I'm a lover of all things imaginative including books, art, and quotes.  My current favorite being "What whine goes best with Captain Crunch?" by the late great George Carlin.  My main purpose for creating this blog is to generate publicity for my Etsy store, Indie Go Kait.  Indie Go Kait is a shop with all handmade items from simple jewels, to mugs, to business logos and stationary.  All proceeds go to my ridiculously high rent for my shitty house:) hehe.  By the way did I mention I am willingly living with 7 female roommates.......I know I must be certifiable, right?   Thanks for reading my ramblings and links for the shop are coming soon!  Night, thanks guys :)
